Situated some 400m from the end of Loch Greshornish.
Meadow Cottage is an ideal base for relaxation, cycling, walking and wild life holidays on Skye.

The Cottage

The cottage lounge

The cottage has one double bedroom and one twin bedroom sleeping up to four people.  It is contained on a single floor with no steps throughout.  It has a comfortable lounge, well provided with a diverse collection of books, Free Sat TV and wifi.  The views from the lounge look out over the local hills and forestry.   There is also a loch view through the trees with an occasional soaring eagle.  The cottage is situated such that on a night during autumn and winter you may catch the occasional glimpse of the Northern Lights.

After a strenuous day on the hills, there is a large relaxing walk-in shower and heated towel rail to help with your revival.  Then to finish your day the bed linen is 400 thread count damask cotton, for the ultimate in bed time luxury.

Bon Appetite! The cottage is well equipped for self-catering with a gas hob and double electric oven with grill, microwave, sandwich maker, toaster and kettle, fridge freezer, washing machine and dishwasher. A wide range of utensils enable you to casserole, roast or whip up a quick snack. The kitchen is enticingly equipped for you to indulge in enjoyable holiday cooking whatever the level or complexity.  A dining area in the kitchen allows the other guests to applaud your efforts.

The boot room has a selection of maps and visitor information and also a range of equipment you may need for a day out on Skye.

Bluebell woodland within the garden in spring

The Garden
Surrounding the cottage is an informal secluded garden of a 3rd of an acre of bluebell woodland and meadow, bordered on two sides by a rocky burn/stream that adds to the range of wild life that inhabits the area.  The garden is managed to encourage birds rather than formally set out with flower borders.  A number of nest boxes and a feeding platform further increases the range of species that you will see while staying there.

The land surrounding the cottage consists of crofts with an area of lichen covered hazel woodland to the east.  There are a number of forestry and coastal walks which radiate out from or near the small village.

The cottage is also well placed to act as a perfect centre for walking, cycling (including off-road tracks), climbing and kayaking activities on the island.
