We recently stayed at a stunning property in Waternish and couldn't have asked for a more perfect getaway. The location was absolutely gorgeous—nestled in a peaceful village with breathtaking views and serene surroundings. The property was home to free-range chickens, and we were delighted to enjoy fresh eggs and Scottish tablets provided by our thoughtful hosts.
Alan and Kathy were exceptionally warm and friendly, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable, providing high-quality toiletries and amenities.
The nearby coffee shop was a great spot to enjoy a relaxing break, and the area itself is a paradise for scenic drives and easy access to major attractions. The tranquility and beauty of the place will remain in our hearts forever.
We highly recommend this home.

The cabin is welcoming and cosy, with lovely decor. It’s in a very quiet rural spot but it’s easy to find and you can park right in front. The views are amazing and we were able to watch dolphins and (we think) minke whales through the binochs from the front garden. Kathy and Alan were very responsive and sent lots of helpful recommendations for our stay. A beautiful place to spend a few days.

We spent a wonderful week in this surprisingly spacious, spotless clean and well appointed cabin and wholeheartedly recommend it to all fellow travellers looking for a peaceful getaway from the crowds of Skye. The views from the cabin are amazing, we spent hours just watching the clouds and the changing lights on and across the Loch, only interrupted by friendly chicken crossing the view from time to time. And Jessie, the tame lamb broke our hearts. Thank you so much Kathy and Allan for creating this place, it is our all time favorite and we cannot wait to be back (2026 is the plan!). Please cuddle Jessie from us and greetings to the all other lambs, sheep, chicks, corn crakes, lobsters and eagles!

……… If like us, you prefer to stay off the beaten track and find pleasure in slow travel and unique places, you may love The Cabin as much as we did. Compact, warm and comfy, it had everything we needed including lovely hosts who were generous with their knowledge, time and experience. (Thank you, both).
For us, it was more than a holiday: the crofting community of Geary and Alan and Kathy’s experience and willingness to share provided a window into life on Skye. Much of Skye is quite busy even out of the high season, but on Waternish we had time and space to absorb the atmosphere, spot the wildlife and take in the scene…Traveller from Nottingham, Sept 2021
……… Incredible host, my favourite location on our stay. Such a cute and spacious cabin. Couldn’t recommend enough…

……… This was our third time at the Cabin on the Croft and it was fantastic to be able to spend a week in Geary! The Cabin is beautiful as ever and we enjoyed our nightly walks around Geary and swims down in the bay. The lemon curd and fresh eggs that were kindly provided made some lovely breakfasts and we spent a lot of time reading and looking at the fantastic views. A great place to spend time on Skye and we hope to come back again!…

……… Wow, what a find! The cabin was spotlessly clean, and offered everything the two of us needed for our time on Skye. We had a week in the Cabin and it was big enough to relax inside when the rain set in. The views are out of this world and we were fortunate enough to see dolphins and eagles on multiple occasions. Don't forget your binoculars, although the cabin does have a pair. The lemon curd, fresh eggs and tablet from the local hut were all welcome additions that added to the whole experience. Kathy and Alan were on hand before and during our stay which made the stay really easy to organise. Highly recommend!…

……… Fabulous hosts and stunning accommodation with gorgeous views. Extremely friendly and informative communication prior to and during the stay. Lovely welcome from Rose (the family golden retriever) and the hens, then met with fresh eggs and lemon curd in the fridge and tablet on the side - how did you know my favourite things!!! Easy travel to the Fairy Pools, Fairy Glen, Portree and the Man of Storr, as well as gorgeous walks around the cottage. Had evening meals at the Three Chimneys and The Old School Restaurant, which were yummy! When next back am looking forward to trying the Stein Inn. Gorgeous sunsets and would highly recommend (as advised by Kathy) to see the morning sunrise too! Will definitely return in the future!…

……… Wow, what a special place! If you're looking for a beautiful Airbnb in an idyllic setting with incredibly kind and gracious hosts, look no further. We had a wonderful three nights in the Cabin on Kathy's croft and wished we could have stayed longer. The cabin was incredibly clean and well stocked with all kitchen and bathroom necessities. We did lots of cooking while staying here (highly recommend ordering a fresh lobster from Iain, the local fisherman!), both inside the cabin and outside on the BBQ, and had everything we needed. If this is your only destination on Skye, I would recommend staying at least four nights so you are able to experience both the sights (Quiraing, Old Man of Storr, etc) as well as spend time relaxing on the croft and getting to know the local area... It's really quite special. Thank you Kathy - we can't wait to come back!…

……… Our stay on Isle of Skye hosted by Kathy and Alan was very special. The cabin is beautiful, thoughtfully decorated and had everything we needed. Kathy was extremely helpful, she sourced a lobster for us from a local fisherman and even part-cooked it for us so we could cook it out on the BBQ! The views from the cabin are outstanding, we saw so many stars and gorgeous sunsets/rises. We loved having the chickens running around outside the cabin and the very cute lambs. Our local taxi driver, Ian, was also so lovely and full of interesting local knowledge. We did a boat day trip to Rona island on the Seaflower with Ewan and Janice which is another high recommendation. We saw lots of wildlife and had lunch on the boat with seafood caught by Ewan’s family. The location of the cabin was so special, I loved the drive and the views every time we drove into Geary. I couldn’t recommend staying at the Cabin with Kathy and Alan any higher…

……… The Cabin is in a gorgeous location for a cosy getaway on Skye. The views are stunning and there are plenty of local walks to explore with great wildlife to watch on your doorstep. Kathy and Alan have thought of everything with this space and we couldn’t have asked for more, their tips and recommendations on local food and sights were great and we highly recommend anyone looking to stay on Skye to book this cabin!…

……… A perfect spot in a perfect cabin! There’s not enough words to describe how beautiful this spot is - we spotted Dolphins from the bed on our first morning! The cabin has everything you need for a peaceful & comfortable stay…
